I have an intro interview with Gartner for a senior digital marketing role. Excited to go into this as I’ve heard good things about the company and culture (a few connections, but not in the marketing realm).
Any advice going into the interview for a company like Gartner?
I’m confident in interviews and my skills but wondering if there’s something else that will give me an edge.

The stress has lead to an eating disorder that I can’t get control of. I’ve lost 25 pounds since starting at the firm two and a half years ago. I am 20 pounds less than I was in high school... I don’t know how to get control again. Even when the stress lays off I can’t eat more due to being used to being busy for almost 9 months out of the year...

found a role i’m really interested in and came across a post about it from hiring manager with a “reach out if you’re interested”. I’ve got a few connections to the company - is it better to try to go through someone I’m connected with in a different department and try to get referred, or just jump on the hiring manager’s post and reach out to them cold?

I went to the lease this last weekend. Not one drop of alcohol was had. That was the closest I’ve come to caving. 4 wheelers, killing dinner with big guns, doing manly things in God’s country. Beer is an absolute necessity during these events. Anyhow, I didn’t drink. Proud of myself. Monumental moment for me.

I also do this as feeelance on the side, so where do I draw the line between who I refer to the company I work for or who I personally do freelance for? CTR, contracts and department overhaul

our marketing dept is undergoing a complete overhaul. under old leadership, a $75k 12-mo contract was signed to a marketing group that handles our SEO, blog and everything Google Ads. All things I can and am in training to do. Current CTRs on G ads seem pitiful at no more than 0.75%. My meta ads coast around 4-6%. During this overhaul, would it be wise to not renew our contract, and negotiate for me to take over these roles and leverage a raise?

I’m job searching right now and applied for a job I was a little overqualified for just to shoot my shot and get my foot in the door with a great brand. The hiring mgr took the time to email me to tell me I was overqualified and offered to help me get connected to his network. He’s been so kind and helpful and I’m kind of in shock at his generosity. Even if an offer doesn’t come from it, is it weird if I send him a Starbucks gift card or something as a thank you? What’s appropriate?

Hi! I have been working in marketing and advertising for ~5 years and recently started exploring the freelance side of things. I started conversations with a small boutique studio about doing Facebook ads for them and they asked what my retainer fee would be to manage them. I prepped the doc accordingly, but instead of wanting to discuss it, he said I have 4 weeks to “turn things around” - without giving any new info on what I’ve done wrong - esp given I wrote my goals based on this same feedback from last week??
