I started drinking
- Set a timer on social media
- Don’t buy junk food (and conversely keep the kitchen stocked with healthy, low caloric density foods like apples, berries, carrots, grapes)
- be kind to yourself and don’t let a cookie or a slice of pizza derail you....you deserve that food also, it’s just not black and white
- seltzer is also an awesome substitute for soda / beer

I've kept a pair of small dumbells near my desk, every so often I'll try to do a quick exercise routine with them. Nothing complex, but it gets me off my chair and gives me a small break.
Actually a brilliant idea. I’m going to do the same and exercise while in zoom meetings all day
Breathing exercises, drinking a lot of water, fully unplugging rather than just switching from laptop to phone, playing 1 game of online chess... but honestly a struggle for me as well.
If you have even 10 minutes, a walk around the block really refreshes my brain and distracts me from my pantry or phone. Sometimes I'll listen to music, sometimes a podcast, but I've realized recently that listening to the city sounds/birds chirping is super grounding.
I also recommend putting your phone in another room to charge at night and away during work (when possible).

i’m gonna sound cliche but breathwork, meditation, and reading self help books helped me quit binge eating
what also helped was that i’d set a timer before scrolling through social media and absolutely had to quit when the timer was up, no exceptions
my vice was/is tiktok so interacting with the meditation+self awareness communities on that platform helped too, because they often provided good tips to cope
I feel the same way! It helped me to find a book I like and keep it right next to me so that each time I reach for my phone I can easily put it down and switch to reading.
