I have to say, aside from the ridiculous rebranding and TRUST, I’m really damn proud to be part of this firm. People are complaining about the underlying strategies etc etc but at the end of the day I’m about to be receiving money that literally no other competitor has even thought to hand out. I say, bravo Tim, bravo partners, bravo PwC, a great April webcast in my opinion. I’ve definitely drank the kool aid. I’m also about to go on a 6 month paid maternity leave. I really <3 PwC.

PwC seems to have the unique ability to plunder its employees while simultaneously convincing them that they are better off for it.

I don't think any other B4 firm has mastered brainwashing quite like the dubs.

likefunnysmarthelpful

Depends on the situation, I was less than two to senior and another 2 to manager. /shrug

The thank you bonus and prepandemic bonus pools mean they worked everyone to the bone and made a crap ton of money this year by cutting out all the other stuff having to do with genuine in person interaction. The realignment just shows you it’s true what audit partners have always said - this is an audit firm that also does tax.

likehelpful

The new Ps will be from acquisition. No way they can make 1000 new partners in 3 years without going outside the firm.

I think it’s your leave talking but congrats, enjoy the extra buck and time off

like

Quite possible haha but at the end of the day we did get more than any of the other big 4

like

I'm happy you enjoy your job, but KPMG also announced similar increases in comp on Friday last week. So the "literally no other competitor has even thought to do this" isn't right. I wouldn't be surprised if leadership from all of the Big 4 sit in a meeting together and discuss their moves, because they all seem to roll out the same thing at the same time.

like

Except for unlimited PTO apparently 🙃

like

PwC isn’t the only person to hand out money, the only thing they’ve got is the PTO incentive. I’ve gotten like 5K in bonuses/WFH stipends during COVID from KPMG and Deloitte had bonuses/mid year comp adjustments over a year ago. EY is the only one that’s just meh.

like

Yes to all other big 4 firms outdoing EY. Regarding my sample of 1, everyone already at EY received the same as I did for 2020. Only outliers are people who were new hires and may have negotiated a bonus or those who passed their exams within a certain timeframe. In January 2021, staff and senior manager received 2% (maybe 2.5%) raises and seniors and managers received 5% raises. No cash bonuses yet.

like

Geez I want to jump ship to switch service line and these benefits are low key making me want to stay and work out an internal transfer somehow.

like

What on earth were they paying you for you to get. 65% pay bump? Either you landed literally the dream job or you were grossly underpaid - either way feels like this isn’t the norm

like

Respect.

I didn't understand what is happening from a reorg perspective but I agree PwC is a great place to work

Lol this was the firm slogan when I joined 😂

Can i ask what your utilization is this performance year?

I’m not in deals lol I’m an audit senior 1 making like $70K 🥲

Whats the amount of money you are referring to? Just one $1k?

My deals group is losing people weekly. I think we’ve lost a quarter of the group in the last year. We’re turning away work, and borrowing resources from audit who have no deals experience. People are running at 150% utilization. Yet we also have people in this firm who have 50% utilization getting the same bonus which I think is the crux of people’s unhappiness. Individual effort and impact has not been recognized or rewarded. We’ll see how they differentiate bonuses this CRT among the various tiers. If they don’t want to pay for talent then talent leaves and at scale it quickly becomes the firms problem.

Hi! In the process of switching from South FloRida to PA again to work at a hospital but making the same money? The switch would open me to be closer to family for support and the have a nursing prog, since the benefits are attractive and I’m looking forward to the future growth. The thing is they claim i only have experience of 7 years and offering me less than what I make now. I wanna go, but any suggestions on this negotiation cause I would still need to pay for a place to live and expenses.

So I just moved states. I’m staying with a parent for a while in a pretty large house and my cat keeps hiding for hours on end (I think to snooze). Any thoughts? She’s spent time with me and I walked around with her while she explores. And she’s ventured solo. Seemed she’s warming up well. Except this again. I admit it’s giving me horrible anxiety that she won’t respond at all until I locate her because even I’m learning where things are and want her to be safe. This is the third time 😭

Hello I just started my first job (I’m 22) and I need to set up a 401k for matching with my company. I’m really confused how this works because I want to try to hit the IRS maximum of $19,500 for Roth contributions this year. Maybe it’s too late in the year now, but it’s asking me to pick my desired contribution % per pay period, but I’m not sure how much to do because it says it’ll kick in 1-2 pay cycles and I don’t even know when the next pay check comes yet. Any tips would be great

I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?

Baby furniture. What is everyone doing? FTM and trying to figure out if it’s worth investing in very expensive nursery furniture. We were looking at the Natart furniture collection and the Silva collections. These both come in at about $2000-$2400. The furniture is high quality and grows with the child. Alternatively I could go the lower end route at get everything for like $800. Is that wise? I hear horror stories about low quality and paint chipping from the baby teething on the crib.

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

Hello Fishes,

I currently hold offers from below:
IBM - 15.5 LPA
CTS - 18.5 LPA
PWC India - 16 LPA
Oracle Financial Services Software(OFSS) - 21 LPA

Planning to join OFSS as I will work in product development team and can work in any shift timings with WFH.

Today I had my 2nd round interview with EY GDS and got rejected.
Do I need to worry about this and feel low?
Could EY GDS would have been better instead of OFSS?

Please provide your valuable inputs.
