Sounds like you may have avoided a truly toxic work experience —-don’t put too much stock into any of this, people are judgmental, biased, and controlling for the oddest reasons. As a candidate, we are vulnerable and subjected to crazy and sometimes super intense behavior interrogation, most of the time the interview standards do not reflect the caliber of the actual work, the culture, and maturity of the organization they are just BS mindless tactics people learn through repeat experience, bad HR training, and internet searches (no joke).

Not my intended message. You said happened last year? Let it go — living in the past and manifesting anger, rage over something this trivial will only hold you back from the things you want.
Some constructive feedback…the question on how you will handle an uncooperative colleague is very relevant in real world. I have gone through this very recently and also multiple times in past. Being a lead, it is expected that you have some answer for that question. Like, I will follow-up the “difficult conversations “ technique to discuss one on one with the colleague of how their behavior impacts team dynamics etc. There is no right answer for a question like that but you should have an answer. The reason leaders ask difficult questions because in real world as you climb ladder you will encounter senior leadership that will ask those types of question in an odd meeting and you have to be ready to handle them.
contd. Not only that they HR told me not to prepare for any tech experience and the prick started asking me tech questions about projects from a year ago. I have a blood pressure issue so I asked for some water and that enraged the guy more and he kept drilling me further.
I dont what these people think of themselves in a position of power. Someday the tables can be turned and hope they get a pice of their own medicine.
I once worked for a guy like that. It was a slower boil of his bad behavior and language tho. Once I realized what kind of abuser this guy is, and it has a name, I quit.
Here’s the thing tho: what really is abuse? I’ve not been a manager, but I have given many job interviews and, frankly, the questions the poster gave seem all perfectly reasonable. Rather than griping, try preparing answers for the next time those questions come up. And they will though perhaps in a different form. Be aware, too, the interviewer may be looking for something other than the “correct” answer to a question.
I was once asked about how I dealt with a combative co-worker. Answered the question and moved on. I learned later that such questions not only reveal something about your personality but also test your ability to give a presentation. Can you tell a story successfully with a beginning [the Challenge], a middle [the Action], and the end [the Result]?
