I have what I thought was my dream job for most of my career. I'm no longer bedside and I work in the specialty I've always loved. BUT I find since being here I don't have that same freedom from work I had.

In my last area I left work at work. Here I'm still mad on the way home. It's not the job itself it's experience with people I work with. I'm trying to take it as a learning curve ..but y'all maybe my dream is a nightmare?

I hope it's just some growing pains and adjustment - not an actual nightmare. When you've had a dream in mind for so long, it's very distressing to finally achieve that spot and then be left wondering if you were completely off the mark the whole time. Put into it exactly what you had envisioned yourself putting into it, and try to ignore or minimize the impact of your co-workers. They aren't there for the same reason you are. If they want to come to work to create a nightmare for themselves every day, that's their choice. You take the high road and do the job you always believed you could do in that position.

Honestly OP I have been in your shoes. I got what I thought was my dream job and then was leaving work stressed, mad, sad, etc and I couldn't just leave work at work. I ended up taking a role in admissions because being in direct care with our patients was causing me far too much stress. There are times that I do miss it but I do not miss the stress. \

So I am currently a potential candidate as an AAE. I was told that I would in the future have to prepare a mock deck and deal with objections.

Has anybody had to prepare them and what was the scenario?

Thanks everyone!
