I was interviewing with IBM n PWC in parallel in September.

As PwC was delaying the interview rounds and IBM rolled out offer soon and my NP was ending I joined IBM 4 weks back even though my preference was PwC.

Today I had a Partner round where I revealed that I joined IBM recently and if PwC can offer something better it will motivate me I can resign and join pwc. But, the partner saying he will offer same salary and asking me if I can join. I said No. Was it a mistake

I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. Has anyone successfully moved their practice to a new state? I would like to get out of Texas but criminal defense is so jurisdiction specific, even at the federal level, that I’m worried I would have a hard time building up a practice with no connections.

Looking to transition out of Management Consulting and going into big tech in NYC.
