It’s going to work out - just keep faith. Take your time and give yourself space to just relax for a few days and then start looking. Don’t be harsh on yourself because you know this situation is out of your control aka covid -19. Always here to chat and can request friends to refer you at FAANG or MBB.

BCG3 can I hit you up as well? :)
Being laid off is never fun and it just leaves you with a million questions of you could have done differently. I’ve been there, but it was a blessing in disguise. I was able to get a new job with a promotion and a substantial salary increase. Below is some advice I’d give to myself:
1.) Focus on what you can control now
2.) Create at least 3-4 different types of resumes that you can send out. Think about the types of new opportunities you would like to take on and align them with the general requirements
3.) Reach out to your network. This is tough and never fun, but they can give your resume visibility and jump over HR hurdles for you.
3.) Make a goal to apply to a number of different posts a day
4.) Stay sharp and take some online courses
5.) Volunteer if you can. This can also help increase your network. You never know who you’ll run into!
Best of luck on your journey! Feel free to DM if you have questions.
Wow I wish I had the privilege to say something like this
Either you never have seen any setbacks, or your are blatantly lying or you just live in a la la land. Let me tell you one thing, the corporate does not care about your ‘choices’, ‘previlege’, when time comes you can be as well on that position to be axed. As they say in scenario planning ‘prepare for the worst’

Keep this in mind:
- It will work out, you got to where you were because you worked hard and you’re smart. You are a good bet for teams and employers.
- It may take time, it will be hard, you will be in an anxiety loop for the better part of your search period
- It is on you to stay healthy during this, don’t do what I did and put on 30lbs due to anxious eating. Whatever you do, stay healthy.
- Although your friends and family may lose patience, don’t lose patience with yourself. Be kind to yourself.
- Wear this as a badge of pride and experience. We tie a lot of personal self worth to our work, and a certain amount is healthy. This is part of that experience.
- It will work out, stay patient. I thought it wouldn’t for me, until it did. It bears repeating.
- Having recently experienced this myself, please feel free to DM me if you want to talk. I know how awful this experience is, I just lived it and am happy to provide an ear.
How is severance package?
Good question
Hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to let you all know that I’ve accepted a new role and will be starting relatively soon!! Really wanted to thank you all again for the well wishes and positivity!! Have a great weekend!
That’s great!
This will definitely lead to something better :) someone posted a thread last year around November where people who got fired/laid off found a better opp. It started with “just got fired” or something like that.
Yep ^
Bro - you have DT in your resume - things will open up for you.

Agree 100% OP. Whatever happens happens for good. What seems like adversity in the windshield becomes a faint memory in the rear view mirror once you drive to something better.
Deloitte and PwC are consulting firms that sell dreams to the not so knowledgeable. To be successful there you have to be relation builders and politically savvy, sellers or story tellers rather than deep functional, business or technical or user experience expertise ( can not generalize but these are the tendencies and things that drive people to be successful there). Obviously when tough times arrive real value thrives and they downsize as they can’t get business any longer at least in IT transformation.
trust me it will. i quit Deloitte to go to microsoft. best decision. Deloitte has no technical skills...
Glad we agree. I had to show how to get the server hostname from a connection string. Truly laughable.
Might be because you were spending too much time on building out consulting humor? 😂😂
Trust me when I say it will! I got laid off by Deloitte in October and it was the best thing to happen to me. I’m much happier where I am, in a much better environment where they don’t have a quota to meet of “layoffs”
Me too ! I got laid off from Deloitte and moved to PwC and feel it’s the best move ever till now
No a Manager :-) but grass is greener
Just remember, when life gives lemon, make a lemonade out of that. Remember nothing is more important than your life, health and mental well being. Stay positive and focused, discover yourself and align to those types of work, skills and thoughts like a maniac👍
Let me know if I can help with any referrals, happy to leverage my network
Thank you so much, EY4. I will absolutely take you up on this offer
I have been laid off too from couple of months and I cannot be positive like you:) I love consulting, I love my job, I made lot of efforts and sacrifices, I had positive feedbacks but I have been laid off for the crisis. And now I am applying for corporate roles that I don’t like because I cannot stay unemployed for too much and during this period there are not open opportunities in line with my ambition and sacrifices, I really don’t know how can be positive!
I’m really sorry. Keep applying. Being negative won’t help! You’ll get through it, this is just another challenge you’ll overcome. Hoping you can get some referrals here
Why is D laying off so aggressively when other consulting firms are not? My friends in BCG and Bain (dont know about McK) are telling me a lot of new cases are getting sold now after the first few weeks of uncertainty. I'm part of Supply Chain. Any thoughts? Also is D pivotting from strategy operations work to large scale tech enabled transformation or operate/outsource model? In other words, trying to be Accenture 2.0? Confused...

Sorry OP, I agree with you that good things will happen from this.
How were you notified?
OP, I doubt you will be jobless for long with that attitude. March on!!
