any telltale signs of layoffs in tiger?
Layoffs at Omnicom shops today?
I might be very lucky that I didn’t join Google before the summer as I’m not stressed about potential layoffs… but on the other hand i do feel unlucky to finally fulfill my dream and make it through the recruitment process, only to get stuck in the team-matching stage. And then the freeze.. how long can people stay on the list until they get hired? Or does your place on the list ever expire?Google
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
Do we really have lay offs happening in zs ?

It’s going to work out - just keep faith. Take your time and give yourself space to just relax for a few days and then start looking. Don’t be harsh on yourself because you know this situation is out of your control aka covid -19. Always here to chat and can request friends to refer you at FAANG or MBB.

BCG3 can I hit you up as well? :)
Being laid off is never fun and it just leaves you with a million questions of you could have done differently. I’ve been there, but it was a blessing in disguise. I was able to get a new job with a promotion and a substantial salary increase. Below is some advice I’d give to myself:
1.) Focus on what you can control now
2.) Create at least 3-4 different types of resumes that you can send out. Think about the types of new opportunities you would like to take on and align them with the general requirements
3.) Reach out to your network. This is tough and never fun, but they can give your resume visibility and jump over HR hurdles for you.
3.) Make a goal to apply to a number of different posts a day
4.) Stay sharp and take some online courses
5.) Volunteer if you can. This can also help increase your network. You never know who you’ll run into!
Best of luck on your journey! Feel free to DM if you have questions.
My advice is to take a week off then the following Monday start your job search process like it’s your full time job.
Best of luck to you. Glad you are positive, despite all of this. It gives me inspiration. I hope it humbles some of your former colleagues at D as well. Many post on here and are notorious for thinking they are something special. It can happen to any of us.
Hell yes it will
OP— care to share any information about yourself? (Location, job interest, background?) I think a lot of people here would love to have a capable person with a positive attitude on their team!
I’m also positive ;)
Sorry to hear that. Getting laid off from Deloitte was the best thing that happened to me. Best wishes to you!
Any reason why? Were you chargeable?
Same here, good luck OP
I am in the same boat. Got laid off as well from Deloitte
Hugs for you
Good luck. What’s your last role?
I was laid off from D last year. Don’t worry you’ll land on your feet!

Sorry to hear OP - sending you positive vibes for your bounce back!
Sorry to hear about this. Like all things, something better will come from it. Stay positive. Remember that it has nothing to do with performance, it’s related to the downturn in the economy due to COVID.
Stay positive and keep your confidence levels up!
Sorry to hear that OP. I’m sure things will work out for the best. Take some time for mental health to get your head straight and then go get it!

Bowl leader, can we please unpin this post? At first it was uplifting, but after seeing this as the first thing for 5 days, it's a bit depressing to be reminded about lay offs...
ZS I understand your family situation and don’t imagine that I come from a rich one, but in my opinion, being laid off too, this discussion allows me to read some nice point about the topic. I prefer to read something with value added like this post, rather than posts about how some consultants are rich maybe because they come from rich families and not because they have worked hard.
My comments are just directed to the fact that speaking about difficulties not need to be something to avoid but something to take inspiration, because maybe just one of the readers of the discussion can have suggestions or experiences to speak about.
Like all problems, speaking about is one of the way to find a solution and to react.
Hoping that ASAP we can just speak about success and have a smile thinking about this period:)
