I just made a $500k offer on an investment property, the most I have ever paid for a home. I have always wanted to be a landlord, so jumping in with two feet. I am using all my savings as a down payment. The numbers work, but I am freaked out about the amount of money that is and the amount of debt. I have no one else to tell...so posting here in oblivion.

Anyone know how taxes work when you sell for a gain? Do Coinbase and other sites prepare a 1099 or are we on our own to "self report" our gains to Uncle Sam?

Hi, I have been working in a neo-bank scale up for the past year. I’m getting paid relatively well with stock options that vest over 4 years. There are also talks internally about the company potentially IPO-ing in the next 1-2 years.

I just got an offer from a smaller startup who are giving me a 20% increase over what I’m currently getting, but they are unlikely to be publicly listed anytime soon.

Should I take the offer and potentially lose out on vesting £50k+ (pre-stocks) worth of options?

I am trying to justify house buying in HCOL city. The house cost is minimum 1.4m .monthly mortgage would be at least 7k(with just around 2k principal) rest goes to either int,tax. Not to mention regular house maintenance. How is it better than 3.5k rental. I understand appreciation and own house independence. But I am just trying to make numbers work.
