I just spoke with a recruiter about a role, responsibilities were broad, expectations seemed high, and the company was looking for someone with significant experience. However, compensation was much lower than i expected. made me wonder whether I’m out of touch with the market, or if others are seeing the same trend. Have you noticed the gap between role expectations and compensation? Are companies expecting more while offering less, or is the market simply becoming more competitive?

I had a recruiter tell me that some corporate clients are getting a bit weary with high attorney fees. This trickles down to what some firms are now willing to pay their associates.

Thanks

I got an email last night from a 7th-grade parent because her son said I mentioned the words "male privilege" in class, and she is very concerned about how that is related to ELA (she said "reading"), and she is concerned about this being taught in public schools. To be clear, I didn't do a lesson on this subject but we did discuss rights versus privileges. I've had multiple parents contact the school/get upset with me because of things like his. It's exhausting... Thoughts?
