I think it's worth interviewing. Be confident that you can negotiate a good salary and take it as an opportunity to practice interview skills at the very least. It's rare enough to get to the interview stage in this market so I think it's worth going through the process, and proving your skill level then negotiating for the best you can get if they want to make you an offer.
Doesn’t matter what range they post. They always push you towards the middle of it if you’re lucky. When you try to push higher they say it’s “out of their budget”. You could have 5 years or 25 years experience, doesn’t matter. They offer what they want and you either take it or leave it.

It’s common, but sometimes when they do provide a range, it would be something like $68,940 - $144,560. Which doesn’t really help. It might as well be commensurate with experience.
I’ve always pushed back a tad, but not aggressively when speaking with the recruiter. If they didn’t ask you about expectations, that’s a red flag.
I hate when companies do this but they can be just as annoying when they do post it.
I really want to be in investigations but the pay is generally too low, but I still keep an eye opened. I applied for an investigator role at Amazon with no salary info thinking if I get a prescreen I will ask the recruiter immediately so no big time waste if pay is low. They do reach out to schedule time and when I get in the phone it is a panel interview with two managers trying to do behavioral questions at step 1.
A few years later I am looking to move to a different FI and apply to one of the big 5 banks where the role aligns with my experience and the range works, only to have the recruiter say the hiring manager will not start anyone higher than a number in middle of the range that was lower than my current salary. Super annoying as it was a short range.
You either have the leverage or you don't. If you need a job, you take what they give you. If you're just speculatively applying and don't need to move, then you have the leverage. They don't want to waste their time interviewing someone they can't afford either. I'm not actively looking, but when a recruiter reaches out to me, I just state upfront my desired salary. I know I'm paid more than many people with my job title, so I know if they're looking for a lateral hire, I will be too expensive for them. Nobody has yet bothered to move forward after telling them my minimum desired salary.

In some states there's no requirement to post a salary range, so they tend to use vague terminology like that. If it seems like they're being oddly reluctant to talk numbers it's not a good sign at all. You should ask them the salary range and if they play games with that question you should take that into consideration. Always try to have them state numbers first.
