I moved from a soft-sales role (lots of relationship management, light upselling) into a hardcore outbound role, and the mental shift has been tougher than I expected. What was the one mindset or habit that got you to be more comfortable/stop dreading cold outreach?

I plugged in to the likes of Brian Tracy and Jim Rohn. Old-school but truly good-school. You can find their stuff on YouTube--I preferred audiobooks I could find ("The Psychology of Selling" and "Eat That Frog" are two good ones). New up-and-coming thought leaders are also good, but they're basically branching from the OGs! Best of success to ya!

Both great recs!

Warm leads through referrals, research, networking. If it is straight hardcore cold calling then know your markets and product offerings and positive thinking, zip, zip out the negative seeds and read some books as mentioned. 7 habits of highly effective people by Steven Covey is another. The 12 week year by Brian P Morgan.

Good advice!

What helped me most was treating it as practice in learning, not selling. When you genuinely try to solve problems, it feels less like intrusion and more like connection.

I would check out The 5 Second Rule.

Hey OP, how’s it going?

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

I was interviewed for a major tech player in the hospitality industry, had 2 interviews which for the first one the recruiter was late, and didn't confirm the interview while I emaild her to make sure I do have an interview. When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager. After 45 minutes she said they will let me know...

I have 7 years experience in sales. But I am relocating from North Carolina to Massachusetts.

Would anyone happen to know any great companies hiring?
