I need some advice & also preferably a Job Referreral. I've been in IT for 10 years and I've been mostly working client facing roles, I feel burned out and really want a change. I have a 4 year IT degree, A+, Network PLUS Comptia certs and am currently working on my PMP. I was recently let go from my last job which was an MSP in June of this year (they were acquired by a large MSP NTIVIA) and I have been applying to jobs regularly but no luck landing a job here in NYC. At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. Our company is shopping around for anti-virus and anti-malware solutions, and encountering companies who “will not redline.” We’ve tried 3 vendors, and the only one who redlined quoted 5x what others have quoted. Some of it has to do with how the biz team is presenting, but has anyone else run into this? Can we still negotiate with company A Or B to get top up from X+3 to make a clear decision to choose over one other.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I didn’t like what they’ve done to me specially I’ve been redundant from the previous role before joining this company.
