I realized my actual dream fantasy job all my life was to be a train driver (and yes I have train autism). No emails, no annoying clients, no crappy partners, a nice cushy union 200k job, health benefits, railroad retirement, doing the the same fun job every day seeing beautiful scenery, vigorously blowing the horns all while guided by the rails. I would quit being a corporate slave in a heartbeat if it only weren’t so damn difficult to get these train driver positions with LIRR/MNR.

My company is giving me a reimbursement while I go to school. It’s capped to induce me to study part time. I decided to go full time. Pay the difference out of pocket so I can graduate quicker. I have been working as a manufacturing engineer tech for 4 years without a degree but this May I will get my bachelors in Mechanical Eng. Currently making 63k a year, hourly. What should I ask for when I graduate? Living in Southern Pennsylvania.

If anyone works at a charter without a union, are teachers generally invited into the decision making process at your charter school? Does your school have leadership committees/teams with teacher representatives?

Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

I have an associate mentor who encourages me to flag items I don’t understand and will walk through them with me, but at this point, the only thing I understand is that I don’t even know what I don’t know and what I do know that I don’t know is basically everything.
