I recently got the CPA. What is a good certificate to get for better opportunities in the future? Just looking for something to study.

Do you have to take the SIE before the series 7. My job bought me the series 7 books and I started studying but I am finding out I need to take the SIE first or does it matter?

How long did it take you to find the right position the first time you went in-house? I am 5 months into it and regretting turning down the (lowball) offer I got a couple months ago.

Is it worth it to recruit for a PE Associate role if your current plan is to get 2YOE, go get an MBA and pivot afterwards? Seems like most people can’t /won’t stick around to make it to the top and end up doing something else anyways.

I once was a CISA… I have no IT background, no IT degrees (2 ACCT degrees tho); never did/saw a shred of an IT audit/assurance work/client/OTJ training of any kind. Forced by employer to choose CISA vs CPA, CISA was way more feasible at the time. I passed 1st try. My firm had zero IT work. So all my CPE reqs lapsed, and my cert expired w/ zero resume material to show for it. I see IT Auditors paid WAY more. I’d love that! I’d re-sit. But idk my head from my ass about practical application.

Not happy working for current team as don’t see personal growth. Switching to a different project will affect growth and promotion cycle - is this the indication to quit and try outside ?

Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range. I am trying to avoid wasting all of our time if i get to the last interview and they are expecting a salary that is too low for me.
