Ask HR - at best, you’ll see a pro-rated amount according to your start date. And while I have successfully negotiated a full year’s eligibility for a Q4 start, that was in lieu of a signing bonus (small company who hadn’t budgeted in the hiring year for a signing bonus, so gave them the ability to roll that into the following year’s budget). I’ve not personally seen a company I’ve worked with be super-flexible around bonus eligibility.

Makes sense - thank you! That’s what I’m hoping for
You should get a pro rated one, but do ask. It should note this in your employment contract hopefully.
Always ask
Definitely talk to HR. They would probably know how it works better than even your immediate supervisor.
The HR at the company I’m working for now is awesome, and will usually happy to help with stuff like this (sometimes exceedingly so.)
By "new role," were you an internal hire from another position or "external"? Every company is different, but usually, bonuses are eligible after your first year of employment.... You would have to defer this question to either HR or whatever internal policy handbook your employer provides. Unless someone from your companies HR team reads this, nothing anyone says on here can be guaranteed to be accurate.

External role. Thank you! That’s made sense
I would definitely ask HR and see what they say. If they don't know the answer they can point you in the right direction at the very least.
Worst case they say no try lead them with a prorated bonus
