I'm currently on implied status in Canada (applied for an extension before the expiration date on my OWP), but lost my job two months ago. I am thinking of leaving my stable full time job for a contract position (ongoing with no time frame) for a bigger raise (making an exra $20/hour) with a large tech company. I joined EY a year ago as a senior and am very fed up with my group. I work on short-term projects with very scrutinized budgets, yet my utilization is supposed to be 100%, so my hours are scrutinized by the teams I work with and leadership. It feels like it's all they care about. Has anyone moved firms due to such reason?

Anyone still use a pager? I feel like I get weird looks sometimes for carrying mine around but I came from industry and this was more common, not in the consulting environment from what I've seen 🤔
