I got H1B Visa and 83000 USD dollar petition amount as annual package.I am confused as this amount will be enough to survive there with wife and 7 year old daughter. My wife is working here and together we are earning 50LPA annual. We are settled here by owning house too.Confusion is my wife will not be able to work there on H4 Visa so the kind of life we are living here will not be possible there.Thoughts?Suggestions?Pros and Cons?

That's crazy! And there are no legal repercussions you can take? Even in civil court? That's just wild...
That's RIDICULOUS. I'm a cabinet designer and I have a good base salary but I depend on my commission too. It's always paid out the second Friday of every month, It's stated in our handbook and was also explained to me before I was even hired. Our office manager also sends out an excel spreadsheet weekly, tracking each designers commission as well as our salespersons commission. It's a very small company so she's also our HR person so she keeps everything on the up and up. Sounds like a really sleazy place you were fired from. How much do they owe you? Here in CO, if it's under $7,500 you can take them to small claims court. It's only like $50 to file. If it's more, I would sue their a$$. If I were in your position, I would definitely sue, beucase not only is it it wage theft, which is ILLEGAL, it sounds like you were wrongfully terminated as you reported the theft to HR and then you were fired immediately after. I would gather all the communication you have in writing, and write down everything you can remember that transpired verbally, dates and times, and conatct a local attorney who specializes in wrongful termination. Good luck, I hope you get your money back and find a more reputable company to work for!!
Sorry forgot to mention one important thing... Do you work on a draw, or do mistakes (remakes) come out of your commission? I think a lot of cabinet companies work like that (not mine, I would never accept a position with that pay structure) so if you made alot of mistakes and they had to remake the cabinets, it might have eaten up all your commission. If that's the case, they should have communicated that to you instead of just firing you but if you were hired 'at will', they didn't have to, and then you wouldn't have a base for claiming anything:/
