Hi guys,
Need help,I am joining VMware Banglore on 27th June. During interview I told them I need wfh. They said it wil be wfh this entire year. Only mistake I did was i didn't permanent wfh. I took for granted like once I join i can opt for it ( as my VMware friends had said we can opt for it)
Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.
So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?
Hi. I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this but I have an exclusive opening for a trust and estates attorney who is tax heavy. I am looking for someone to join the US office of an international family office in Philadelphia. I'm happy to share details. There is also a possibility of remote working so if you are not a Pennsylvania resident please don't be afraid to reach out. It's an amazing job! Kristy@advancedlegalplacement.com

Use that time to call and catch up with family and friends! Especially on the way home, someone might be on their commute as well
Audio books! Library or audible
Good idea!

Can you adjust your hours so that you arrive earlier and miss the traffic? Then hopefully leave earlier too and miss traffic that way? I’ve found even 30 minutes can make a significant difference.
I’ve tried leaving earlier and later to find that sweet spot, but I can never seem to get to work smoothly. No matter what, it’s a long drive with traffic and the office is only 25 minute drive without traffic!!

I used to use the dictation setting and notes app and “journal” also I’d do breath work (mostly because traffic stressed me out) but it helped and passed the time
I’m in the same boat. My new job is only 20 miles away but it’s at least an hour and sometimes an hour and a half.
I’m going to learn a new language.
Find more interesting podcasts.
Listen to audiobooks.
Add podcasts of music that you like. I haven’t listened to a radio station in years. You don’t have to be productive every moment of the day. Add music for whatever mood you want to be in. I listen to music in my car more than anything else.

M1- Thanks for the recs, I listen to a couple of those and will check out the others. Not on your list, two of my favs are Sugar Free Radio, and Anjunadeep (anjunadeep has tons of different DJs so some I love, some not so much)
Audiobooks! Life saver for terrible commutes
Audible. But no need to pay if you have a library card. There are a number of free apps that hook up to that
Stop going in every day if possible.
I’m new and trying to prove myself. When I get real good at the job and have the confidence to work from home I’ll probably do that
Is there a mass transit option available? Used to take the train to work and was able to pay bills and do most personal tasks on the commute. Could also catch up on tv shows. When I was home I was fully home without distractions.
It’s great if your a tourist and confined to city limits but for the everyday person… no one uses it
