Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

At $295k, I would seriously weigh taking a pay cut and working more hours with more stress than being corporate strategy at a bank just to scratch some itch at being a consultant. It’s not the heyday anymore and we’re not all eating steak and lobsters at the Four Seasons anymore.
Fair enough.

Did you ask Oliver - why man, why did you fire me?
Nah i said why my man. They hated that
Why were you fired? That may be a good place to start and understand your situation
Day 1 I felt like they wanted me gone. It was so weird. I was in an office that had literally none of my team members.
I was an experienced hire consultant, I already knew how to do the work, i just never meshed with the team over Zoom.
lol you have found the end goal of most consultants...why go back a few steps? Instead focus on moving up rapidly at the bank or somewhere else
OP - it looks like you landed in a good place. If you are itching to get back to consulting, I would recommend targeting a Big 4 or a large firm like Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, or Capgemini. My reason is that these are large organizations where you can find your niche.
I knew of someone that had a similar experience to yours: she was not a fit and was let go after 3 months. It was awful, but she bounced back.
How much are you making at the bank?
I’m interested in leaving consulting if you’re hiring. In NoVA
It sounds like you found a brilliant exit. $295 is mid-SM numbers for B4 consulting. What’s the draw to consulting when you’ve landed an industry corporate strategy role. For real?
Some people like work and a dynamic career. That is not corp Strat. It’s not bad, it’s just fine and stagnant and incredibly iterative. In consulting you see the levels above you, and know that is achievable, and can envision how your life might change work wise. That is much harder in corp Strat unless there’s a clear path to exit to a P&L role in the same company.
Is this a brag, you crazy, or just a masochist?
Not a brag. Just miss the pace and intensity of work. Also seeing more an entire market than a single company.
Consulting for yourself has far more options to help a business. It's just less money. It's rewarding work and it keeps you busy if you like to stay busy.
My passion is Functional Consulting and part of what I do is rehab failing bank loans. I design business models. New lead to cash processes. Marketing/UXUI/Social Media.
Maybe try to start something like that at your bank.
