I was hired in as an assistant manager of a gas station in Oct23 @ $14/hr. After 90 days, $14.15/hr (Feb24). In June24, I received a promotion to Store Manager (salary $43,800/yr) In Sept24, store got new owners. Oct24 new owners fired all employees. Dec24, rehired by original company as cashier and $12 an hour. Jan25, promoted to assistant manager trainee (still $12 an hour) after 2 weeks I will officially be assistant manager but was told I would only be making $13/hr. Any advice?

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!
