Are you open to moving elsewhere? We’ve been hard pressed to find an office admin/EA in Austin.
Hey fair enough, you gotta do what you gotta do.
That’s a bummer to hear. Your role, while obviously being massively important to an agency, is a little tougher of one to fill and justify in our new (post?) pandemic world of remote / hybrid. Though I’d bet you’re have better luck in the coming months that anything from 2020-2021 with more places returning in some small capacity. It might be worth expanding your horizons beyond advertising to other industries that rely more heavily on in-office work though, just a thought. You do have the advantage that lots of companies are having people quit in massive droves right now. I genuinely wish you very good luck and I really hope you find something.
Have you thought about switching roles? I know normal agency jobs can feel like admin roles sometime

Lots of EA jobs outside advertising. Banks, private equity firms, lawyers, manufacturers, corporate HQs etc.
Yes, I know, and I have applied. I no longer have any filters on my job searches. I will accept anything - FT, PT, temp, perm, remote, in-person. I also work with two recruiters. It seems admins are no longer really needed. My application response is about 1 or 2 in 10, which makes me think that there are now thousands of us no longer employed and all in search of the same limited amount of jobs.
Can you pass along your resume or skills?
Have you tried searching on platforms like Upwork? You should be able to find some steady work quickly in the meantime, and remote!
I feel like it is SO hard to find a job when you don't have one. I don't know why this is. I was also laid off when the pandemic hit and it took me 5 months to find something. I had to nanny in the meantime because its all I could find. Wishing you luck in your search, I know how brutal it can be.
