I was skeptical at first, but I think that businesses and roles that are tied to physical activities more than purely reasoning or office to succeed in the future because of AI. Do you think that having such skills, even if unrelated to the main job (e.g. software engineering but expert in a industry or domain that is not tech) will be sought after more in the future?

There’s definitely a shift happening. Roles tied to the physical world (operations, infrastructure, hardware, logistics) may be less directly disrupted by AI in the near term. But I suspect the bigger change will be how AI augments knowledge work rather than fully replacing it.

I’m sure we’ll see a change similar to the tech explosion during the dot-com era, but this time driven by AI. The concern is oversaturation, with more people entering than opportunities are being created.

Automation was a significant factor for the Great Depression, and we are seeing it again. Jobs that are less susceptible to automation will be safer, but that split isn't a clear line between office jobs and physical. We will see some labor-type jobs by automated as well. Then you have things like the trades, which will likely always rely on human labor. However, if no one has money to spend on projects, those workers will also be going without work.

Love how BS credit score is. Got my score up to 800 last month only to go on vacation so my credit utilization went up to 8% due to the increased spending and my score dropped 35 points because I didn’t immediately pay the balance after charging the purchases. I always pay my balance in full each month and have never missed a payment, how is 8% credit utilization determined to be that big of a risk that my score got immediately wrecked, I don’t understand

I posted this somewhere else before I remembered that I am in this bowl :) so, I changed jobs 6-7 months ago and I am realizing it is not a good fit. Leadership seem to not want to hear the truth so people tell them what they want to hear and if you don’t middle management gets pissed at you. I am seriously thinking about looking somewhere else. My question is how do you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current company?
