AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

Yes an internal shift is the best way to do this. You probably need people to vouch for you though. Talk to your manager/mentor about options
Externally, people don't typically take IT support experience seriously when it comes to hiring SWEs (myself included)
I’ve been with the same firm for 25 years. I’ve been part of customer support, IT, presales (partner enablement), sales (customer success). Yes, if you like the place you can find interesting new opportunities.

You have a long way to go - as a starting point, spell “you” correctly and see where appropriate communication advances your career. Not being rude, just honest.
I don't think it was necessary and even though you said "not being rude", it was very rude. This is a social media platform. I'm sure OP doesn't use short form on his or her resume
Yes, that's always possible. It would be the best way to go in this market. You already have credibility. within the company already.
I don't think it's a matter of them agreeing or not but rather they might feel that someone else with more experience could better fit the job. Try to feel the hiring manager out first, get a sense of what they are looking for
