I went on an interview today for a legal assistant position. I feel like they only asked me minimal questions and told me to ask questions. I think I asked more questions then they asked me. Is that the new normal?

you got an interview ? are you H1B1 ? keep getting asked if I am H1B1 on job application when I select no I am american citizen I never get an interview , I am 4.0 GPA grad , with paralegal certificate and a legal studies bachelors degree I have been applying for a job since 2023

Yes, I got an interview. They didn't ask me about the H1B1. I was reached out by the company's recruiter. Im sorry you haven't had any success. For the record, they rejected me today so back on the job wagon.

What type of place was it? Law firm or something else?

It might be a “new normal” for bigger firms who want to standardize their interview process. You will likely see less of this issue with smaller or boutique firms

Hi everyone, I had a major surgery and am looking to find a remote position involving anything that isn’t 100% commission based or cold calling/agent positions. Looking to make $25-35 an hour, and have had long term positions such as Clinical Secretary & Receptionist/Administrator, Accounts Payable Clerk, Team Lead, and Sales Associate. I’m willing to try new things and am a very quick learner, and can handle multitasking and high pace. Does anyone know of any good work from home positions?

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.
