That's a very smart plan!!
Well first question would be why are you seeking therapy?
Anxiety? High stress? Depression? What are you going through? From there it may be a discussion to find the root cause and either resolve if possible or manage/cope. Be open minded to short term and long term treatment. Some things are easy to notice and can be turned around within a couple of sessions, but some will take time. Its probably going to be difficult in the beginning, specially if the therapists asks challenging and self reflective questions. Just know it will be a journey.
I hope your journey is going well. I completely understand that a job can negatively affect your life as a whole. Did you find a therapist you can connect with and work on improving your mental health? If you feel like its the role itself then maybe consider finding another career for your own health. Also if they have LOA options that may be a benefit to look into as you recover.
I loved therapy. It was a game changer for me. I did not think of a topic to discuss, just said whatever was on my mind. Made some major changes in my life and can honestly say therapy changed the direction of my life for the better. Resistance is real in therapy and is to be understood , not necessarily acted upon. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips :)
I have not tried it yet. I want to but I don't want to, not sure yet.
I've enjoyed a 4 year, ongoing relationship with my therapist. It was a miracle when I found her, and it has been really neat to see how the flow of my goals and life has changed, while having her guidance. I can say that: You're asking the right questions! You can start journaling and asking yourself simple questions like 1) Am I enjoying what I am doing now? If not, 2) What would a prefer to be doing with my life? then ask 3) Where have I been giving my power away? And a great therapist will be able to sit with you and help you answer those questions.
Most importantly, see the long-view of therapy. It's rare have go: 'Ok a few sessions, check off the list and we're good!'. When you overcome depression you life changes radically. Don't be nervous, This is a GOOD thing. And your therapist will be there to support you through the highs and lows. But you're going to change in amazing ways. Good luck!! 🍓
