Looking for some honest advice. Considering an offer with SocGen B’lore for Specialist Software Engineer position with 5.5 years exp and into Tech service management. Could you please tell me a bit about following points?
- 25% of the compensation(5Lakhs) is Variable. Does company even pay 60% of it at the end of the year if you perform say 4/5 rating?
- What is an average annual hike that the firm gives?

Do not blame the company or talk poorly about them even though I understand it is awful to have other people mess up and it hurts you at the end of the day. Consider taking some slight ownership for it, that can come off good, and then move onto what you learned and how that is helping you be the best fit possible for the new job.
I’d keep it real but professional. Explain that the grading system was inconsistent and unfair, which made it hard to accurately demonstrate your true performance. Emphasize you want to work somewhere with clearer, more reliable feedback processes.
