1. Real estate development (Usually not as exciting of a job as it seems unless you are a higher up on the Development team.)
2. Real estate Appraisals (this industry is under some change due to technology, and a lot of people aren’t getting into it).
3. Property Management (Difficult and thankless jobs IMO. Usually stressful due to emergencies and dealing with buildings breaking down.
4. Real estate Association management (part of property management, but manage associations for condos and homeowners.)
5. Real Estate Private Equity (more finance heavy, but probably highest paying roles compared to others above)
6. You could become a loser podcaster/personality to scam people and eventually sell “educational packages” to people telling them they are worthless if they don’t start investing in real estate.
7. Real estate mortgage brokers (sales oriented, might not be what you want. Commission based)
Generally agree except for private equity. No one with a little bit of resi RE experience will sniff a role with these folks.
I was a property manager before my banking job. Now moving into construction cloud computing
Property manager, buyer for a SFR company, appraiser among others
My former colleagues finance more (debt + equity) for SFR than anyone out there. Open to a convo?
