Personally I think climate risk is a cheap way for companies to be Woke. The economist did an entire report on ESG and discovered in many cases it’s an easy way to fill board seats with friends.
The S and G are woke. The E is catastrophic and not-too-soon-to-be apocalyptic
To answer OP question, OW does a lot on climate risk (liabilities for banks) so that certificate might hold some weight
Unfortunately we do not do much in energy transition, for that it’s probably the Energy practices of Mck, BCG and ACN strat (formerly SLB consulting) besides some niche firms I’m probably missing
How is governance woke? Lol I’ll say S is up for discussion
Certificates / courses aren’t really what we would look for. We have a crapload of Climate & sustainability cases, so would encourage you to apply.
Thank you so much for your comment. Is it possible to have a short conversation with you over the call? Just wish to understand this practice briefly before I apply at BCG.
Not sure if the sertificate has any weight with MBB, I did it on company money with the idea of adding some competitive edge. The learning is just the ebook, which is a poor compilation of publicly available resource (and frequently outdated). But I was more or less familiar with this all anyway, so in the end just went on to take exam. Maybe better to take a few indepth interactive MOOCs and showcase it when you get to the interviews?
BTW, come join us if you're interested 😉
We’re looking for industry experience in climate & sustainability, we hire for very specific roles. Check out our careers site
No need of any certificate - experience (and passion) is what we are looking for
