At the very least they should offer small cash bonuses for everyone who worked on a winning pitch. Just toss everyone $2500 or something.

A lot of folks in advertising have never had a blue collar job and it shows. Could we be paid more? Of course. Does everyone in every line of business think they deserve more money for their labor? Yep. But of all the industries to complain about pay, we have one of the least compelling arguments. And as far as equity compensation - go take a look at any holding company stock. You don’t want it. Why? The margins in our business suck, so growth sucks.
Advertising isn’t a growth industry. There’s been a flight to tech / in house for almost ten years and ad agencies simply cannot keep up on pay. It’s impossible.

My entire working life from 7th grade through college were blue collar jobs. One thing has nothing to do with the other though.
On the surface, yes, you are correct, but there’s much more in play. Maybe if agencies weren’t so abusive requiring 60+ hour weeks we’d feel different.
Tell the players’ union of any sport that team owners don’t have to pay them what they’re worth b/c they could be working a blue collar job that pays less. After all, they’re just playing a child’s game.
“Equity” “Compensation” “Manageable” “Feel” “Benefit”
What do these words mean?
They mean overtime pay or equity awards based on performance.
Why would they ever do this?
Because everyone goes to work where they do?
