That’s literally the job of an interviewer.
There’s a difference between being hounded with questions and having a normal down to earth conversation
It wouldn’t be a great sign from my perspective; however, my supervisor turned out to be a total micromanager, yet asked me few questions in the interview. You should be asking questions to probe for these things and could even ask to interview a peer.
Could be it’s a dumpster fire and they really need to be sure they hire the right person with the right experience. Follow your gut and maybe ask a few follow-up probing questions of your own. Good luck
Depends on who the interviewer is. Is this the person you will be working directly for or some rando in the company?
My assumption is that you and the person that interviewed you are different people and you did not like them (probably rightfully so). The question is now: do you want to work with someone you don’t have a good chemistry with?
I once interviewed with a woman who was too reserved and guarded. One would she was say polite and nice but I knew her and I would not work well because I would be too loud and open and opinionated for her so I did not pursue that opportunity any further.
When interviewing candidates I typically dig in on a couple bullet point lower on the resume. You may consider this an interrogation but for me I’d like to know if you’re lying on your resume. Additionally, I’ve had candidates blatantly use AI to spit out answers on generic questions and then when I grill them on resume points they are clueless. This is an important part of the interview to weed these useless people out.
Did you view company reviews on Glassdoor, Indeed and LinkedIn? It could be a company that experiences a high turnover rate because everyone in the company micromanages. A company that does not know how to treat anyone with respect. I would try to reach out to an employee on LinkedIn if it is possible.
