Have you noticed (either in school or in person) that social-distancing and cleaning standards are becoming more lax?
Anyone see this interview with Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman? She's pushing to reopen the city. I can understand the need to "get back to work" but it clearly hasn't been thought through https://youtu.be/APoSHB9pQk8
Genuine question. Could you please share some examples of concrete changes implemented in the past year to make SEA a better place? E.g. for a long time I didn’t know you could take alternate week one night PTO off - which is a good thing. Asking this because I worry I might be missing out on some benefits like this 😀..
Anyone working out of the san jose area?
Hello all! Brand new to the fishbowl but I would love some insight. I just got offered an entry level marketing position at Cisco headquarters in San Jose. They are offering a base pay of $76,200. I just graduated in December 2021 but have ~2 years of relevant experience. I did some calculations and I am going to be spending ~39% of my income in rent. Should I negotiate for more? If so, what range?
Our partner last Thursday told us that we need to work this weekend since we’re trying to finish everything by Tuesday and he said we can take Friday off. Sunday comes along and we’ve had numerous team calls and the A1s are MIA. Where do we find them lol
How’s the culture at EY San Francisco FAAS?My friends at EY all enjoyed the culture but they are on the east coast. Wondering how’s the culture and people on the west coast. Appreciate any feedback.
Moving to Chicago in a month with my wife & baby. Does anyone have any recs on buildings with a large 1 bedroom or 1+den? We are primarily looking in West loop and Fulton river district.
I’m planning to spend 8 months in NYC/NJ - need a place with easy access to EWR. Any recommendations?
Has anyone traveled to Italy recently from the US (NYC-JFK specifically) - did you have to present a negative covid test? Your vaxx card? Something else? Ty!
Where should a mid 30s gay couple live in the bay area if one of them will work in Mountain View when offices reopen? We are used to living and working in big cities w/o a car (NYC, Chicago), but that doesn't seem possible in SF/SJ without a long commute time. Other guy is looking for a job in tech, but currently works remotely for a firm with offices in downtown SF and San Jose.
San Francisco or NYC?
How is traffic to JFK from Lower Manhattan on weekday mornings? I need to be at the airport by 8:45am this Friday.
My friends and family think I have a tendency to be a little neurotic... anyone else in this boat? Any advice? I definitely have anxiety and can be a worrier but I’m not weird about cleaning or anything and I don’t let these worries hold me back from actually doing anything (besides covid stuff, and even then I’ve been on the lax side and go to stores and such).
I’m in interviews for a head of marketing role at Google in San Francisco. Any insights on salary range/TAC would be appreciated.
This agency recruiter is supposed to schedule my next round of interviews. She asked for my availability for a specific day then when I responded, she never confirmed. Just MIA. Should I keep trying?
Where can one buy breakfast burritos at LAX?
There is nothing better than getting an empty middle seat out of ATL. Today is going to be a good day. That is all. #winning
Currently making 130k in Seattle, what’s the minimum comp which is considered “equivalent” if I move to San Francisco Bay Area?
Ah now it did.

Eating dinner in NYC’s east village. 5 tables around me, and at each table, they’re speaking a different language. Times like this make me feel like the rent and high COL is justified!
Made a decision that I knew my (traditional east Asian) parents would disapprove of. They're incredibly upset, full of tears, and no longer answering my calls. I feel heart broken. Has anybody been in a similar position? Looking desperately for help
Does anyone else wake up depressed?
I want to switch to one of the top 3 firms (McKinsey/BCG/Bain) - hoping for an honest answer - do you guys do lateral hiring from other consulting firms at associate level?
I feel like if companies can staff us on more than 1 project or work us more than 40-hr a week without paying us more, we should be able to have more than one job & not be limited by employment contracts when there is no direct conflict of interest.
I am a Analyst in my 30’s and everyone else that I work with that is a Analyst is in their 20’s fresh out of school. Have had setbacks in my career but trying to just stay optimistic and know that I will have better opportunities. I can’t help but feel embarrassed at times because of my age and the position I am in.
What’s the probability of getting a practice transfer from Advisory to Consulting if you have Partner support?
Looks like Spotify could use some strategy consulting. Stay AWAY from politically controversial hosts/personalities/politicians. Especially when your user base is dominated by millennials. Classic case of execs not knowing how to separate personal viewpoints from their business. 🤡
How do you come to terms with just not being smart enough to get to the next career level? Currently a senior consultant and the partners seem super humanly smart and good at their job, I think this is as high up as my brain can get
