Having an "avoid acronyms wherever possible" policy is actually pretty good. Recently moved to a company that has this and it's quite helpful for facilitating fast communication across the organization. In aerospace too, traditionally probably the most acronym-heavy business there it.

Read noble prize winner Daniel kahneman. Acronyms are efficient. They let our mind take a shortcut and sub out the full meaning without having to think about it every time. It’s not just a time to write/say it thing, it’s also a more efficient mental shortcut. So yeah, acronyms are good
One of my MBA classes used the acronym NAZ as the only allowed acronym. It stood for No Acronym Zone.

SM2 - I would argue that acronyms are used to exclude people or are used to make someone seem smarter. It’s so very frustrating to onboard and there’s an instant communication gap because of the acronyms.
