Worried about potential recession and layoffs...
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Hey guys, I am in negotiation phase with Agoda Bangkok for the position of Senior Software Engineer. I am currently working in India. What offer should I expect from Agoda? Also, if someone can help me with the expat taxes and expenses in Thailand, I will be grateful.

Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

Having an "avoid acronyms wherever possible" policy is actually pretty good. Recently moved to a company that has this and it's quite helpful for facilitating fast communication across the organization. In aerospace too, traditionally probably the most acronym-heavy business there it.
Agree you can't avoid them 100% though
I love you OP
Hello, I’m a consultant and I’ve been at Original Poster’s company for 3 years. A fun fact about me is that I enjoy self-contained underwater breathing apparatus diving as a hobby.
GL!
I fully support you
Hey do you work at Ernst & Young?
Is 3 considered an abbreviation of three?
SC1, actually, 3, but who’s counting...
Also, irony of the day. EY is an abbreviation from Ernst & Young. DISBAND THE WHOLE COMPANY
Yeah, referring to PPMD or CEO would be a blast
Contractions are basically abbreviations too
Nerd
Yeah. Always having to spell out Business Analyst, for example, and not say BA is a real simplifier.
Your company will fail.
Down for a company full of acronyms. Punishments to those who use large words. Aint nobody got time for that
I did Fed DoD, EY is actually worse. Off the top of my head GT&E PACE TEYHP MMT BRET GMS GIS EYI GCSP TAL G360 TER NER FMA GDS LEAD (not be to confused with EY LEADS), ALP, ARMS. The lack of creativity, user experience and integration is sad.
You get my vote if you fire people who use “pls” instead of “please.” It’s 2 more letters. You’re not that busy
So no plans for a United States Federal division then?
Elon Musk actually has this policy
