There have been surprising news with layoffs lately. Has anyone here been affected by the layoffs at Twitter or META?

So are the layoffs at Deloitte over ?

One issue with the work from home revolution will be the offshoring of jobs. I got laid off and my replacement will be from Mexico City. One time zone away and probably half my salary. It is what it is.

What is the severance pay in pwc India?
Does everyone who gets fired be eligible for it?

Is it just me or do 90% of the jobs being laid off by big tech sound made up? Many job descriptions with multiple bullet points that all kinda revolve around the same idea. One of my buddies works for a big IT company and literally just sits on meetings all day. No one really contributing to anything other than agreeing to whatever the speaker is saying. Are these kind of jobs finally being exposed? Six figure employees getting paid to sit and bounce ideas off each other?

Is it good to hpe seeing current layoffs. Is there good work life balance? Job security?

Does your firm find out why you failed a clearance ? Asking bc I got fired from my first job out of college a couple years ago and didn’t report it on it company background check. I’m afraid if I fail my public trust, my current firm will find out and fire me for not reporting it on my prior employers.

I was laid off from Deloitte in the 18th. I have an interview with Amazon for a Senior Program Managers Non Technical position with Amazon hiring manager on Monday. Any advice would be much appreciated. I would love to get into Amazon. I hear their interview process is brutal.

I got offer from IBM in my home location itself, with 18.5LPA fixed for 9 yea in automation testing. Here my manger is confusing me like layoff will after u join in IBM.. but I am in cts as 11.2 only .. but now I got SA promotion with 10 % hike .. and also no retnation for me also not there whether I can choose IBM or stay here .. kindly help guys .

With so much uncertainty in the economy and waves of layoffs that have hit tech especially hard... do we think there's really such a thing as a recession-proof job anymore if you're not an "essential worker"?

I was informed today that my employment would be terminated at a tier-2 consulting firm in Toronto. The reasons for my dismissal are unclear and I would like to get legal advice on the termination agreement and severance package that was offered. 6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Thinking of switching employers. Do you think bigger retail stores (the ones that have several locations) are easier or harder to work at than little hole-in-the-wall grocery stores (which is all I've ever done)?
