If interested in transitioning from HR to a client-facing Tech Project Management role-which certification would you recommend starting with? If aiming for a Tech-PMP, should the focus be on a specific area like Security or Cloud right away, or is it better to complete a general PMP first and then specialize?

I just did this 6 months ago (best decision I've made thus far). I believe for Delivery Excellence you have to be iPC Certified and full scope knowledge of resourcing, program delivey tools, and financials. I took a different path and went into specific tech domain in an area where we had a void in the skill set. Chat it up with some folks in that space and they can give you some journey stories to help. It's a breath of fresh air on the client facing side. However, ready yourself fpr travel as you're getting close.

Reach out to me as I have transitioned from HR to Tech in many roles.

If you are interested, I can provide insights that you may not get from courses.

Looking forward to chatting

So, I've tried a few different positions and still hate practicing law BUT I was approached about a contract role that won't have billable hour requirements and I won't be steeped (I think) into the law firm's toxicity, so I'm wondering if it could be the closest thing to a 9 to 5 for law. Pay is hourly which seems weird, but I would have time to devote to hobbies and life generally. Has anyone been tempted by or accepted these contract opportunities, and what's your hot take?

I just left t2 strategy for a boutique firm, and I already regret it. I thought I liked consulting but wanted a different culture, but I realize that I don’t like strategy consulting- the timelines are too stressful and I don’t want to travel anymore.
I’ve only been at this company a month- is it way too early to start applying elsewhere? I feel like I made a mistake and I don’t want to miss out on the “great reshuffling” with all these great opportunities.

Currently going to school for my cannabis certification but I rarely see any jobs that offer cannabis research. I currently work in a lab/greenhouse environment and would love to continue that line of work with hemp/cannabis. Yet again no luck whatsoever, just finding jobs as budtenders or running a dispensary. Does anyone know where I can find research-based cannabis jobs? I have a degree in horticulture with lab experience.

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Should I take this role?
Pros: 50k bump, company is full remote, no time tracking software, unlimited PTO, 10k in quarterly bonuses, vertical move in responsibility and title, will set me up for future roles in different companies with the title I am looking for (so strategic move)

Cons: Its a startup, the solution they offer is adjacent my desired industry, its a very small team so I wouldn’t be necessarily grow my network, tech stipend for new laptop (but they don’t provide a work one)

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

So discouraged that houses where I live are about 50% higher than what they were 2 years ago, and now interest rates are around 5.25% for my credit score. This is like a 1750 sq foot home
