I would have gone to community college first. It would have saved me a lot of money and time, especially since I was the "last helicopter out" before COVID struck heavily.
I agree, a lot of times the exact school doesn’t matter but how well you learn in the environment you are in.
I wouldn’t change much, but I would focus more on networking. I’m currently looking for a new role and really wish I had a larger network. In a tough job market, a referral can often be what helps you get your foot in the door.
More networking, and less loyalty. I would be in a very different place in my career now if I had made beneficial moves early on, and realized sooner that who you know is more important than what you know when it comes to career progression.
I’d look into an engineering path but that wasn’t offered at my university so ultimately I’m fine with what I pursued. I would’ve prioritized more relevant internships but I wasn’t aware of them at the time
