AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon
Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

Absolutely!
If they passed on you, then I wouldn’t bother. As legitimate as your complaints may be, it will just look like sour grapes
Half a day of back-to-backs isn't unheard of, but the last minute scheduling is a valid complaint.
OP, Im not shitting on you, but can you give us an idea of how much lead time you wanted / were expecting?
From initial phone call, to phone screen, to in-person interviews, to negotiation, to signed contract took me about 10 days at PwC. When they are looking to fill a sold and funded role, they move quickly to find people. A 3 day lead time for an interview for an experienced candidate doesn’t strike me as crazy, to be honest.
Regarding needlessly preparing for a case study: I would be relieved if I was anticipating a case and found out I didn’t have to do it. Can you give us an idea of how you would have spent your time preparing otherwise? I don’t typically prepare for behavioral interviews other than refreshing my memory on the key points of my resume I want to rely on (which I would have done before starting the job search process in the first place) I’m interested to know how you prepare, as that’s new to me.
What would be a friendly and constructive way to word it? The timeline wasn’t structured (interviews confirmed three days in advance), and the schedule wasn’t set (sixth interview added at the last minute), and I had four hours with six back-to-backs. Is that normal?
I was also explicitly told to prepare for a case, and there was no case - so I could’ve reinvested that time into prepping more for behavioral. Frustrated that expectations for this round of interviews was unclear.
Did they pass on you already? If not, I wouldn’t complain if you’re in the running.
I’m not in the running.
Could be the company is just that unorganized and may not be the recruiter.
Looks like they need consultants to upgrade their TA process
Honestly, it’s probably pointless
Definitely don't bother. Waste of your time
The case prep point is quite funny. How many times you meet with a client on topic A, and in the meeting they take a turn to topic B? In this job you have to be agile and adapt. If small changes annoy you, it may not be for you (however the last minute scheduling is definitely a very legitimate concern).
Well, given that the interview was confirmed three days in advance, I’m annoyed because I had to strategically invest my time in the right kind of prep - which turned out to be wrong for the occasion.
