You’re looking at half of your US comp or less (someone correct me if you have the #s). London COL isn’t quite as bad as NYC but it’s not cheap - I’d think the salary progression in the US is far greater
Yeah, the salary won’t make sense until you hit manager level at some firms and senior manager at others. Even then, US salaries are far superior.
Don't even think of leaving the US if comp is your #1 priority. People transfer to London so they can more easily travel within Europe, get some international experience and slightly better WLB.
In case of immigration issues, fight for matching your US pay if it is a temporary move. If they dont match, everyone else is right, compensation is worse than US and high standard of living costs a lot.

I haven’t begun yet, just clearing up my initial questions before I start taking action
