If you have perfect snapshots in a promotion year, high utilization, extra curriculars, etc., but don't have much visibility to the lead partner of a group, can you still not be promoted?

Gonna need your level, group, and last name to properly assess. Without that it's impossible. Jk you ain't getting promoted

What level are you? As long as your not a manager should be fine

What level are you? And does your coach have visibility to the lead partner? If your coach can be an effective advocate and you are still relatively junior - then it might be irrelevant that you don't have much visibility to the lead partner.

What do you mean by perfect snapshots?

^perfect. Literally. Don't want to give away too much about level

To SA is fine. To Mgr is trickier without a strong advocate. Beyond Mgr you're doing something wrong if partners don't know you

Hey ladies- bit of a touchy personal subject. I had my male counterpart recently use a counteroffer that was extended to me to try to push his own raise. Should I feel offended that he's piggybacking off my offer? (We do not have same work balance for context- he has 4 direct reports to my my 1 direct report and the same workload).

My firm was one of the firms that gave covid bonuses but did not specify whether everyone was getting it. I didn’t make my hours this year because I was on maternity leave and a bunch of my cases ended 1-2 months before I went out so I had lower hours before I started my leave. I couldn’t make up for those lost hours when I was back since I was working from home with an infant because of covid. I didn’t get the covid bonus, which in my mind is ironic considering the circumstances. (Cont.)

It appears the starting salary/draw is a bit varied even with in the big-4 but it is my understanding overtime (3-5 years), most of them average out dont know about mid tear. is midtier better as they less overhead and more marketshare to grow? or even within big-4 is there one firm much better than the other comp & retirement wise
