Hi Guys, can anyone tell me when does a promotion take effect (officially) for PwC SDC Bangalore?
More experienced PwCers: I'm an associate who got a top rating and a large raise during CRTs. How scared do I need to be about getting laid off?
Hey ladies- bit of a touchy personal subject. I had my male counterpart recently use a counteroffer that was extended to me to try to push his own raise. Should I feel offended that he's piggybacking off my offer? (We do not have same work balance for context- he has 4 direct reports to my my 1 direct report and the same workload).
Currently have 2.5 yrs of audit experience (1.5 with pwc) thinking to move to another big 4 as a senior? (Deloitte) (pwc is a bit wishy washy about my promotion timeline) or jump to industry? What roles in industry is best for career growth?
How many hours are considered 100% utilization for S3/S4? Are we based off 40 or 45 now in SaT?
I was curious what other firms have set as their utilization goals for their different positions? Currently, everyone from staff to senior manager has a set goal of 90%.
Have been over 100% utilized YTD until rolling off 3 weeks ago. My practice's leads in the pipeline keep evaporating and now the closest possible engagement is at least 2-3 weeks out. (Cont)
Just found out I’m shortlisted at Cannes is 2 categories. If we win, can I use that as leverage at my current company for a raise or promotion?(Cont)
Got a new job offer, really good raise and in line with what I want to do going forward. I have all kinds of feelings though about leaving EY. Any advice or things to consider that I may not have? This is probably just a normal reaction, but I have been at EY since finishing school.
“You need to work more hours to increase your utilization, but be mindful of the hours you’re charging. We need to be efficient with the budget.” Oh... ok.
Negotiating tips at year-end review for getting an above-average raise? Or do numbers speak for themselves?
Where do y’all see the future of M7 going? In the next 20-30 years. Will there still be an M7 or will MBAs be obsolete as more and more elite companies do direct promotion? Will HSW still exist or will the value prop of a brand name be diminished a ton with the continuous rise of tech/AI, etc?
People on here are talking about billable hours and utilization... are those things that are tracked on an individual basis? We do it as a firm aggregate and thought that was the norm, but seems to be that it might be tied to specific people at other firms?
What are firms utilization and sales expectations for manager? My sales for first year manager is 1m and utilization is 70%. Is this generally normal, lenient, or aggressive? I’m at a small boutique ~100 people
Why there is such a hiring spree from B4s and MBBs at the moment? Just plain curiosity since many people, with good positions, are leaving too!
Today is my first day of my first IVF cycle. After getting the green light to start IVF based on my negative COVID test, baseline ultrasound and bloodwork, I feel relieved that this day has come after unsuccessfully trying to conceive naturally and with IUI, and even excited now. LET'S DO THIS!
How much did you spend in b-school for food (both groceries and dining out), travel, and other discretionary expenses? Hoping to have a good sense of budget before I go!
Anyone can give some insights on BCG financial services in Singapore? How are culture and WLB there?
Thoughts on taking a shot before a video interview? It’s my first ever case interview and I’m so nervous I’m going to pass out from nerves help 😩
I’m in a small-ish office. managing partner of my office & my practice group leader said I could work from home some days per week. Most people seem fine with it except one partner (who has most of the work to give out). Should I stick to my guns and continue to work from home on my days or should I give in to this partners’ passive aggressive side comments generally about people “not actually working” even though I’ve maintained my hours and have gotten every assignment done and done well?
Does anyone know how 'case studies' are like for data science interviews (industry, not consulting)?
Applied for Corp Strat role with one of the largest independent financial brokers / advisers firms in the US. What do you think I can expect in the interview process? Never interviewed for such roles and that too, for a financial services firm that plays in the financial advisory / investment management space. Pleas help!!!
My firm was one of the firms that gave covid bonuses but did not specify whether everyone was getting it. I didn’t make my hours this year because I was on maternity leave and a bunch of my cases ended 1-2 months before I went out so I had lower hours before I started my leave. I couldn’t make up for those lost hours when I was back since I was working from home with an infant because of covid. I didn’t get the covid bonus, which in my mind is ironic considering the circumstances. (Cont.)
Any suggestions on science or social studies curriculum to use in a self-contained (setting 4) EBD classroom?
Partners & Principals, If you have offers from couple of big-4 (Deloitte, PWC, EY and KPMG) & also mid tier such as RSM /Grant Thornton etc. What is your advice? It appears the starting salary/draw is a bit varied even with in the big-4 but it is my understanding overtime (3-5 years), most of them average out dont know about mid tear. is midtier better as they less overhead and more marketshare to grow? or even within big-4 is there one firm much better than the other comp & retirement wise
What are the best consultancies for digital strategy and customer experience design? Do any of the B4 or MBB have strong practices here?

Would you be okay with your daughter joining a sorority? Assuming for this post, that covid is no longer an issue.
Busy season doesn't really feel like it used to be anymore. I think before, it was generally understood it would take half of the time of the year, but now it feels like it covers 70 to 90% of the year. I would love to hear if this is the feeling from people who work at big 4, mid tier/regional and small boutique cpa firms?
