Currently in Saas sales for MDM and AV, but I'm getting tired of the sales side and constant budget chase. Probably also because we get few leads and I have to do a lot of building pipeline from scratch. I'm thinking about taking some online courses to try to move over to cyber security, what would be the easiest step that way career wise- preferably also away fro sales?

How do you think consulting will change over the next 5-10 years? What skills should consultants start to learn to prepare for the inevitable change?

Has anyone got any tips for making a strong start to a consulting career? Have 6 months experience and trying to temperature check how things are going / what I could do more of.

Has anyone considered the idea of traveling to Mexico to get stamping? For context I am in L1 and extension was approved last month. I need to travel outside to India for personal reason which does not qualify for emergency visa.

Currently stuck in risk but interested in Cyber. Have done one related engagement from a regulatory perspective. But a lot of posts here making me think it’s harder to break into than I expected (non-technical background). For startup founders/people with a successful side project: How did you get the idea/inspiration for your business? I’m currently working at a Series B startup and my end goal has always been to found my own startup, but I graduated from college 2.5 years ago and I still have not had any great ideas cross my mind. I was just talking to a younger friend who goes to Cal and It seems like the kids these days hate FAANG or at least Amazon and Facebook are not desired at all. Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?

Anyone struggling with imposter syndrome? When I worked for a very well known Fortune500 tech company I couldn't help but feel major imposter syndrome. One- I am a woman in a male dominated industry, I didn't go to a prestigious school like most of my peers and I just didn't think I deserved to be there. Everyday was a struggle and tried to keep myself small so no one would find out I was a "fraud." Looking back on it now, wiser and more experienced, I realized how detrimental feeling that way

For the people who earned the SHRM-CP, did you feel it was worth it? I have an indirect HR position, been applying for more HR focused positions and wondering if this would help. I got the CAPM (certified associate of project management) in December, but that hasn’t really changed things. Would love some opinions before working on another certification!

Thoughts on a company that won’t negotiate on salary and pays all the Account Executives the same salary. Appears years of experience mean little?

Leaving my current job for a career pivot. Current job has been challenging to say the least and senior management never hears what others have to say. Employment is an at will state.
Senior leadership is so unforgiving that I fear by giving notice, I’ll be asked to leave and lose out on two weeks pay.
Thoughts and feedback on not giving notice or reducing the typical two weeks?

Currently creating spend analysis and doing vendor onboarding work for my company. It’s becoming a little mundane after 3-4 years. This was my first job out of college and I don’t really know how I got into this path. Graduated in business management and marketing. I am super creative and feel like a need a job that allows me to showcase that, but not sure what. Wondering if anyone works in the business world but also mixes with the creative side.

Considering leaving the law (senior associate at small litigation firm) and moving into the change management consulting field. Anyone have any change management connections?

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again.
