What is the salary hike in Virtusa ?
Currently a Solutions Consultant at Pegasystems.
I am interviewing at and considering making a jump to Oracle as a Specialist Solutions Consultant.
The reason for my move is currently at Pega SCs are treated more as AEs or Account Managers. The role at Oracle would be more of a true SC position. I also feel that Oracle will look BETTER on a resume and someone as young as me would have BETTER programs in place to train me and give me the foundation needed to be a successful SC.
Thoughts?

The hilarious thing is with the way this industry works is you can come out financially ahead by collecting severance, double-dipping with a new job and sign-on bonus with the added bonus of enjoying a several months sabbatical
I know friends who lateraled a lot and it made the job market harder for them even if it gave them a slightly longer “shelf life”. I think in the long term it’s better to stay at a higher caliber firm for a longer period of time. If you have other top credentials that could help mitigate the moves a little bit but not always unfortunately.
Do the opposite of what you do now

Probably just push back on taking new work and coast at <60% utilization for a couple months.
I did this for over a year. Started in January after a particularly depressing/ disillusioning conversation with a partner and lasted until December when I was told my hours were low and I had until February to show I was committed to billing more. Instead negotiated an exit by end of April.
Look into negotiating a severance and website time, which I’ve seen some people do. You could also consider volunteering for a secondment.
Secondment isn’t getting fired/severance. Also a lot of clients don’t want someone crappy who the firm is willing to fire, they interview the person and can say no, that they want someone else.
