Anyone have experience working CWX side of Facebook (Meta) ? These are the full time contract roles that potentially turn into permanent roles directly with Facebook (Meta). Had a recruiter reach out and offering me comparable TC and such, just curious if anyone has experience in these roles and success/failure of transitioning into permanent role. Thanks in advance!

Look to see how many partners have joined/left the group in the past few years. Also look at partner/associate leverage ratio. Is the practice group a vital one to the firm?
Get the inside scoop from current associates? If that’s doesn’t work then maybe check website for year over year growth?

Very difficult to do from the outside unless you know it is a firms go-to core practice. Chambers and Partners rankings are helpful but not flawless. If there is someone you know and trust at the firm that’s even better. But it is difficult because most firms are constantly trying to project an image of strength in all practice areas, and are often willing to sell too-rosy pictures to recruits who then end up either 1) unhappy and underutilized or 2) unhappy because they end up in a different group when it turns out the practice area isn’t as strong or busy as advertised.
This is a fantastic question but also something that probably can't be done without someone on the inside that you can trust (note that this could be someone in a different group willing to make some discreet inquiries on your behalf). This is one reason why having an expansive network is so valuable, by the way.
The other ideas suggested so far around looking at changes in partner / attorney headcount are unlikely to be reliable IMHO, since the correlation between that and how much work there is can be unpredictable. For example, if their attorney headcount has gone down, that could mean there hasn't been enough work to go around, but could also be that there is the same amount of work overall and now more work to go around per capita. Partner headcount is similarly unreliable because irs hard to tell how many are rainmaker / relationship partners versus service partners, how many have successfully brought their clients over from their old firm, etc.
