Hi folks,
Please reply me if you are working in Capgemini , Talwade or have a good knowledge about the nearby area like bus stops, how to get to pune station, where to live. I have to see where to find accommodation accordingly.
PS: I don't have my own vehicle and totally relying on buses trains metros
Think a bear market's on the horizon?

You can get into anything really. The right pmo role will get you connected with some very important people if you do your job right. The leadership and communications skill are extremely valuable for any exit opps. It shows you can lead a team and focus on a particular direction. With the right network you can move into any management position assuming you have some sort of similar background. I have seen project managers get into management roles doing all sorts of things
Following. I have same issue. I’m thinking you can spin it into the function you want/ have exp in
Op, what space are you in? Within tech you can see how to build yourself for a product manager role
Op- You don’t have to be in tech to be able to do Product. But if you are interested in it, it is definitely an option.
OP, you don’t have to know how to code to PM tech projects or be a product manager. I’m sure it would benefit you in some ways but not really necessary
Unless youre actually delivering, PMO doesn't even prepare you for PM work. Are you leading execution or asking for status reports?
A1 Connecting with important people on the client side right? I would assume the leadership/comm skills could be spun to work in any role. My goal is to exit into industry in a management position by the time I reach consultant, but was concerned that only doing PMO wouldn’t help. What other types of analyst roles should I seek to build a more well-rounded skillset to make that happen?
Curious as well. If you jump into a PMO role in the industry, will that limit future exit opportunities to PMO as well?
PS id prefer NOT to work in pmo in industry
E2 i would assume thats the case unless you spin the skills some other way but thats what i wanna know lol cuz communication and leadership skills can only be spun so much
D1 not tech so wouldnt be able to do PM
What kind of roles would prep you for that then? D1 My impression was that PM was very tech based so you’d have to know how to code and stuff
Following. Have a tech background but have been on a string of PMO projects for the past 3 years and getting nervous
D2 hm ive wanted to try product management and have looked at external reqs and they seem to emphasize having technical skills. I’ve had pmo roles in tech? Does that help?
C1 that’s discouraging 😓 i really want to be exposed to other project types
M1 that’s what I thought. Mostly doing the latter
Yeah, sorry, you need to deliver something, or dive into the activities of something. If you have a good counselor chat this should be easy to move to...also take advantage of trainings.
Remember though....all.projects need someone to deliver....so if you like that then make that 1 of your focus areas
Op, scrum master is another option. And knowing how to code won’t hurt but it def makes it easier to communicate with a cross functional team
