SC level at EY has a pretty wide bandwidth and I think there’s a little more room to negotiate. What level of SC are you coming in at, do you know?
Thanks for the insight. I guess the worst they could say is no, so I might as well ask. This at least makes me feel like I’m not totally insane.
If they approached you, you can ask for more. If you are already at the cusp of promotion, you will get a pay raise in D too, so if you are satisfied with D work, 10-15k net change is not worth of moving firms if you ask me.
Never in this situation so I don’t know.
But I’m counselor too (M) and if my counselee approaches me on this subject I don’t have straight answer. So I would suggest to start with PPMD.
Like EY1 said, the SC band is very wide. I think 120k might be a little high considering your current comp, but I don’t know you experience, group, etc. I think 110-115 would be a nice increase.
Yeah, as I think more about it, I’d be pretty happy with 115k. I’ll start higher and see what I can negotiate.
Can I ask how you got noticed by them? I can't think of any scenario where another Big4 recruiter would even know who I am
They messaged me through LinkedIn. I specialize in a very specific technology, too, so it’s a very niche area that probably doesn’t yield a lot of results on LinkedIn.
110 would be my target. Realistically you prob can't truly command much more as I assume you don't have another degree based on current level and pay or at least one the commands more. And your a sr, assuming younger sr, not one that is 35 and got into consulting late so mid to late 20's with ur experience ur looking at about 20k. My opinion if my assumptions are correct. Maybe a bonus as well.
Most of your assumptions are true. I’m in my mid twenties and just have a BA. Although I would say I specialize in a very specific area that is in high demand. I just asked for 115k and the recruiter said he is checking with the Director and will call me tomorrow. Thanks for your insights/perspective.
What level are they bringing you in? My guess would be S2. Then, you can definitely ask for 110k. Also which location are we talking about here ?
