I would need more context to answer your question. For example:
1.) If your contract job was your very first job, It'll be a steep learning curve and I'd advise you find mentors.
2.) If you're backfilling the role (as opposed to them creating a whole new position), you could also do it. If it's a brand new role, I think it would be really hard.
3.) How willing are they to give you wiggle room to learn? (both with mistakes and paying for CLEs to help catch you up)
Ultimately it's up to both you and your potential employer to figure out if you've got the right fit. I would make sure to ask very specific questions in your interview to gauge culture and how much support you'll be getting from your employer.
If they're supportive and you're willing to put in the work (and work with a mentor), you could do very well and gain great experience.
