So- we run Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) for our clients display ads in a feed and corresponding google sheet via Google DoubleClick. My q is- does anyone know what systems out there allow for creating a template that will automatically pull a product image from say Target.com and automatically building the ad & copy without manually making 1000 ads via row for row in the google sheet? I know this is possible but curious if Sizmek or Flashtalking are more common in this type of creative development.

I’m sure I’m older than you, because the wisdom of not comparing comes with age and experience. When I made the decision to just run my own race, I was focused on what made me happy and it wasn’t the title and the bigger paycheck. Every time I just chased the money, it was always the biggest mistakes of my career.
It's good to just discipline yourself not to pay much attention to the exploits of former classmates and colleagues. But of course that's easier said than done, especially as they love to put it out there. So you just have to learn to shrug it off or at least not get too annoyed over it. Everyone's road is different, and comparing yourself to others can get discouraging, when in fact you may be doing just fine by your own standards.
This is from someone who worked marketing/ad agencies for 20+ years and I’m now at Fidelity. There are major pros and cons to the agency life. Pro- great pay, learn a lot very quickly, broad experience gained. Con- you work ALOT (I never did less than 60 hrs a week), you have to travel to client sites often, lots of egos to compete with, layoffs when a client leaves, very dog-eat-dog environment.
It’s really what you want out of your work/life balance. I promise that they are working hard, just posting the fun stuff (life). Keep focusing on you and what you want out of life.

I agree. I worked in a tech company then agency and life was crazy busy. Now I’m at a CPG and work/life is more balanced. But I do agree I was able to climb fast in the agency world. And being in a CPG there are limited to no advancement opportunities. I can only grow with the success of the brand I’m working on and have to stay in my swim lane.
Start romanticizing YOUR life. Make your life a little more glorious instead of focusing on the beauty of other people. How is your remote work cute, Instagrammable, enviable? You don't have to show people, just start noticing the beauty around you and not the perceived halo around others.
