I'm a senior 3 in tax in Chicago looking to leave public accounting because I'm so burned out. Recruiter sent me a 80,000 salary for an accounting senior role(It would mean making the switch from tax to accounting). I'm currently making 76,000. Am I getting low balled both at KPMG and by the recruiter? I dont know what's worse, staying and being super burned out with little hope for promotion or leaving for an accounting senior role with minimal salary increase because of the low opportunities.
