I’m a third-year associate licensed in 3 states and adding FL soon. Practice Family law 100% but really wanting to branch into general civil litigation in FL. Does anyone have tips on how to switch fields, especially out of Family? Things I should try to advertise about myself more than others? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Emphasize your experience arguing motions, conducting depos, drafting pleadings etc. I’m not familiar with FL but in many jurisdictions, the family law rules mirror the civil lit rules.

Generally family law is pretty specialized often looked down on by general civil lit types. If your credentials are decent and you’re open to a big step back in seniority, you should be able to find a civil lit job but be open as to type of firm, location, etc.

As a third-year, you’re still young in your practice. Take the jump and emphasize your courtroom and applicable litigation experience. You may have to start at a smaller firm to get acquainted with the practice area, but you’ll be able to lateral out no problem.

Hello,
Can we get promotion after the mid year review in CitiusTech?
Or the promotion for the mid year already done?
I see for many people the designation has changed but for me it's not. I was under the impression that the promotion happens after the mid year discussion or after the year end discussion.
Can someone please tell the details and when we can expect the new revised letter mentioning the new designation.

Will an MBA set me apart? I have a BS in Marketing from top 15 undergraduate business program with a 3.8 gpa, 2 years work experience (3 by the time I’d enroll), and scored in the 63rd percentile on the gmat. This qualifies me for an average business school (ranked below ~50). My goal is to move into a management position within the next 5 years and eventually move into a director or c-suite role. At your companies, do most upper-level marketing employees have an MBA? Is it from a top school?
