You say you don't want to go independent correct? Primerica has business opportunities.

By not exploring the RIA path, you dismissed a viable path. The PE path is a possibility at a smaller shop. I know the progression because of family and colleagues at Blackstone, Carlyle and Apollo to name a few and transition is more accessible when coming from Investment Banking. The positives are your credentials though I haven’t met any CFPs in PE, but I am sure they are out there.
PE won’t be possibly unfortunately, but you could do IB after an MBA and a lot of other careers too. You could always join a team or find another opportunity for succession planning … etc
M&A is investment banking…so you would get your mba from a t20 school and pivot as an associate post mba. PE is ultra competitive but doable if you possibly spend time in IB or consulting.
